New Build, Aldbury

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This new build house is on the outskirts of Aldbury on the edge of the Ashridge estate. The site is part of the old Hospital for Infectious Diseases, which was built in1879. The site was deliberately remote from other villages and dwellings in an attempt to limit the spread of infectious diseases from the patients who were treated here.
The house has three reception rooms, five bedrooms, and three bathrooms. Its detailing is taken from the surrounding Victorian buildings on the site which formed part of the hospital. The house is a building regulations ‘plus’ specification with an air source heat pump as its heat source additional insulation to the basic requirement.
